Depth media designed for clarity and control
DANMIL’s cellulose-based media are formulated for effective depth filtration by combining purified cellulose fibers with filtration enhancers like diatomaceous earth (kieselguhr) or perlite. These blends are available in a wide range of retention grades, enabling coarse to microbial-level filtration in a single pass. Certain variants are impregnated with activated carbon to enable simultaneous adsorption of color, odor, and organic residues, reducing the need for multi-stage treatment. Built for compatibility with standard filter presses and lenticular housings, cellulose media provide excellent throughput and cake-holding capacity in food and beverage, cosmetics, and life science processes.
- Key Features & Benefits
- Applications
- Media Structure and Formats
- Multi-zone Particle Retention: Graded sheet construction offers progressive depth retention, helping trap particles throughout the media’s thickness.
- Activated Carbon Variants Available: Select sheets incorporate carbon for added adsorption of off-colors, odors, and organic contaminants.
- Wide Range of Porosity Grades: Available in coarse, clarifying, polishing, and microbial reduction options to match different process needs.
- Compatible With Multiple Systems: Suitable for use in traditional filter presses, lenticular stacks, and enclosed sheet modules without retrofitting.
- Natural, Food-safe Materials: Cellulose media are produced using FDA- and EU-compliant materials under cleanroom and QA-monitored conditions.
- Juice and Wine Polishing: Removes haze-forming particles, color bodies, and spoilage organisms prior to bottling and final filtration.
- Decolorization and Odor Removal: Carbon-impregnated sheets provide both filtration and adsorption in cosmetic and beverage formulations.
- Biopharma Buffer and Excipient Filtration: Clarifies aqueous solutions used in formulation or upstream bioprocessing steps.
- Chemical Clarification: Used for particle removal and stabilization in resins, emulsions, or surfactant-based liquids.
- Replacement for Powder Filtration: A cleaner alternative to traditional diatomaceous earth dosing systems, with better reproducibility and handling.
- Cellulose-diatomaceous Earth Blends: Primary filtration media consist of depth-charged cellulose reinforced with kieselguhr or perlite for high retention.
- Activated Carbon-enhanced Layers: Sheets can include carbon layers to enable concurrent removal of both solids and dissolved impurities.
- Standard and Enclosed Formats: Compatible with flat sheet presses and lenticular modules for both open and closed-loop system setups.
- Validated and Compliant Construction: Media are inspected and validated to meet food, beverage, and life science-grade filtration standards.
